Partai Gerindra

The Great Indonesia Movement Party, commonly known as Gerindra (Partai Gerakan Indonesia Raya), was officially founded on February 6, 2008. The party was established by Prabowo Subianto, a former Indonesian Army lieutenant general and the son-in-law of Indonesia's second president, Suharto.

Prabowo Subianto founded Gerindra with the vision of creating a political movement that focused on nationalism, economic self-reliance, and social justice. The party aimed to provide an alternative to the existing political landscape in Indonesia.

Gerindra gained prominence in Indonesian politics and was actively involved in the presidential elections. Prabowo Subianto, as the party's presidential candidate, ran in the 2009 and 2014 elections. In the 2014 presidential election, Prabowo was the runner-up to Joko Widodo.

Gerindra has positioned itself as a political force advocating for a more assertive and economically independent Indonesia. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Prabowo Subianto continued to be a significant figure in Indonesian politics, and Gerindra remained one of the prominent political parties in the country. Please note that there might have been developments since then, and it is advisable to check more recent sources for the latest information on Gerindra and Prabowo Subianto.
